North-Western Europe

Sailing in waters in North-Western Europe takes many forms. Generally, though this will represent cold water sailing, the weather can be hot at some times of the year, but this is not the norm. Usually being so far North of the equator water temperature is affected all year round. A Yacht Charter in the North might therefore be the choice of the experienced sailor.

United Kingdom

Despite the fact that the weather Yacht Charter from the UK is thriving, this island nation is happy to be associated with boats. The South Coast is alive with Yacht Charter companies. Famous boating areas such as Cows and the Hamble attract millions of visitors each year. Venture further North and Scotland awaits with deep waters and a stunning landscape to the water’s edge.

Northern and Southern Ireland offer locations that are second to none. The choice is endless.
Some people make it a life’s dream of circumnavigating the United Kingdom; few achieve this dream as it is a technical and time-consuming event.

Sailing Uma

Probably one of the best sailboat adventure channels around in 20202. A couple of well educated young people showing us all how with nothing you can achieve almost anything with great teamwork. Not only have they refurbished a yacht, encountered hurricane-force winds, sailed across an ocean. They produce an entertaining, professional-quality video that makes for addictive viewing. I challenge anyone who enjoys boating to watch any three of the 200+ video offerings not to get hooked.

Sweden and Norway

About as far North as practical to Charter you will find Norway, Sweeden and Denmark. During the summer in the far North, the sun does not fully set. Night sailing adventures were never so easy so long as the weather forecast is favourable. Deep waters require additional skills especial when anchoring.

Europe

Europe is a continent located predominately in the Northern Hemisphere. To the west, it borders the Arctic Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, with the continent of Africa to the south. The most populated cities include Istanbul, Moscow, Paris, London, Madrid and Barcelona. Northern Europe comprises the westernmost part of Eurasia.

The continent is generally considered to be separated from Asia by the watershed divides. These divisions include the Ural and Caucasus Mountains, the Ural River, the Caspian and Black Seas, and the waterways of the Turkish Straits.

The border does not, however, follow political boundaries. Therefore, both Turkey and Russia are transcontinental countries.

European Union

In Strasburg during 1955, the Council of Europe listened to a speech by Sir Winston Churchill of Great Britain. His idea was to unify countries within the European continent to achieve common goals hence creating the beginning of a union. The unification included the majority of European states. Due to this union, the integration of further countries soon followed, which led to the formation of the European Union as we know it today.

Weather

More than fifty sovereign states are present in Europe. The Russian Federation is the largest and most populated. In 2016 Europe had a total population of around 741 million people. Warm Atlantic currents to the west influence the European climate is creating warm summers and mild winters. Central and East Europe typically experience colder temperatures and harsher winters.

Southern Europe is considered to be the birthplace of Western civilisation. The best-known catalysts being the Roman Empire originating in Italy, and the philosophy of Ancient Greece.

Revolution

The French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars helped to shape the continent both culturally and politically. Furthermore, the region dramatically evolved from the end of the 17th century until the first half of the 19th century. Most notably, The Great Industrial Revolution, which began in Great Britain at the end of the 18th-century, radically changed the economic, cultural, and social life in the Western EU. In addition, The Industrial Revolution would continue to create massive change throughout the entire world.
