What is usually included?
Charters generally include: Berthing in the home port Marina is usually included End of charter cleaning (always ask for details) Yachts should be fully insured this includes components (subject to deposit risk) Personal insurance is not included in your holiday charter. Tender with an outboard engine is often included with a Yacht but do check the details
One set of bed linen and towels with spare. Charter companies do generally not supply beach towels.
What about provisioning the yacht
Many marinas have supermarkets, but this is a critical factor, and you must ensure provisioning the yacht you charter will be relatively straightforward. Many destinations offer a shopping service for a small fixed fee charged on top of your shopping list. Ask for availability and details.
How far can we sail during our sailing holiday?
The distance that a typical charter yacht can sail will vary between customers, and some customers like to sail daily from port to port, with some customers saying an extra day if in a favourite location. Our advice is to spend about half the time you have a yacht on charter ashore. It breaks up the holiday well, and it’s likely your crew will appreciate a little freedom from the water.

What waiver do I have to pay and how?
A varying level of a security deposit and just like at most hotels this will be a pre-authorization against a credit card just before you start your charter.
A security deposit is a requirement Charter companies are obliged to retain this by their insurers. If you have any questions relating to this, then please do not hesitate to ask.
Do the Charter yachts have a standard specification?
All our yachts have been safety coded and have passed an inspection by the relevant authorities, who insist the boat carry an extensive list of safety equipment, e.g. Life raft Lifejackets, EPIRB, DSC VHF radio etc.
What about fuel for our yacht?
Your Charter yacht will be handed over to you with a full tank of Diesel. You need to check this before you leave the Marina when you pick up the boat. If the Yacht is not full of fuel, tell the Charter company immediately. Diesel is available at most Ports by Pump or Road. The yacht must be returned to the base at the end of your holiday with a full tank of Diesel.
What time can we get access to our yacht – and when do we have to bring it back?
See the booking and out times provided by the Charter base. It is essential. Your Charter yacht will be available no later than16:00 on the day of arrival for you to unpack and settle in or perhaps if pre-planned depart. The simple way is to bring the yacht back the evening before your departure day. Shore crews then spend time cleaning, checking, polishing, and replacing towels/linen etc . for the next user.
The crew have a lot of preparation to do before the yacht is ready for the next guests to arrive. Please talk to the Charter base in advance if departure timings will cause you problems.
Can we drink the water from the yacht tanks?
We do not recommend drinking water from the yacht tank. Bottled water is very cheap to buy. Keep the tank of water for showering and washing dishes.
What sailing qualifications do I need to charter a Bareboat yacht?
Please take the time to read the following with care. To satisfy the requirements of the boat and yacht insurers it will be required as an absolute minimum that the Skipper holds an ICC (International Certificate of Competence), proof of these qualifications will be needed at the time of booking, and it is essential you take to bring the original with you on holiday.
Before you book a holiday ensure your qualifications meet the minimum requirements needed for the particular yacht.
Obtaining the ICC licence is very easy if you already hold a minimum of the RYA Day Skipper qualification. Contact the RYA, and they will send you the relevant forms.
Usually, Bareboat Charters need at least one other person aboard the yacht, in addition to the skipper, to be competent to operate the yacht, this person will need to either be qualified as above or sign a declaration stating their competence.
