Itinerary
7 DAY SAMPLE ITINERARY FOR THE BVI:
DAY 1
Norman Island is a perfect place to head for on your first night. Leaving the Marina, you will pass the Indians and Pelican Island, arriving at the protected anchorage for your first overnight mooring.
DAY 2
Motor straight over to the Indians. It’s not far so don’t worry about sailing. Pick up a National Park mooring buoy.
Afterwards, take a sail to The wreck of THE RHONE, this yacht sank in 1867. After this, tack up to COOPER ISLAND dinner at the Cooper Island Beach Club is excellent. Cooper Island has a strict ‘no anchoring’ policy due to the plentiful turtle grass on the bottom.
DAY 3
Sail up the Sir Francis Drake Channel to THE BATHS close to the southern end of VIRGIN GORDA. Hook up a National Parks mooring and snorkel or dinghy into the beach.
DAY 4 & 5
Sail to NORTH SOUND, Virgin Gorda, where you will find something for everyone.
After lunch, go up into the North Sound, being sure to. You can find a choice of Marinas and restaurants to pick from, including the well known Bitter End Yacht Club.
DAY 6
Continue west, downwind, towards Jost Van Dyke. This will probably be your longest sail,
DAY 7
Continue up to DEADMAN’S BAY, PETER ISLAND. Lounge on the white sand before climbing the trail up to view the islands from above. Motor round to GREAT HARBOR for a night under the stars. Excellent Harbor is great for your last night as it’s quiet, and only one hour to sail back to base in the morning. The small bar and restaurant on the shore called Oceans Seven offers simple local food.
Sailing licence
We do not require specific qualifications to charter. However, we do look for experience sailing a similar-sized vessel. Captains will be required to submit a sailing resume.
